Project Overview
This project was awarded to Schouten Environmental for the
complete interior demolition, hazardous materials abatement
throughout the 10-story structure and site servicing. Demolition
was tasked for future use and renovation of the college owned
building, notable that work was completed in the heart of the
Kitchener downtown core.
Project Scope:
Schouten was awarded this project through the Zehr group to
facilitate and conduct full interior demolition. In the existing 10
story building, hazardous materials abatement using Type I-III
measures, and excavation and installation of new services to
accommodate upgrade sprinklers and other critical infrastructure
related items. Complete curtain wall systems was removed, 24”
concrete vault and 10 story ducting shaft were some critical path
items that Schouten completed without delay leading to
successful milestone achievements.
